Fatty's is comparable to many village pubs we've been to in Britain; that is, they're family friendly, have an eclectic selection of beer, boast an array of local eccentrics, and have made themselves a genuine part of the neighborhood in which they exist. Still can't bring your dog inside, though.
Service at the bar can be quirky depending on who is serving and what mood they're in, but no one has ever been rude or obnoxious. The food is generally very good and eminently satisfying, though lately some of the prices have gotten a touch high. Beer is almost unfailingly fresh and delicious. No matter what your taste in it may be, you are likely to find at least one offering you will enjoy.
I wish they didn'y feel so impelled to tuned all their TVs to sports channels...it would be nice to see a news channel and another kind of entertainment above the bar.

Fatty's has run it's course. I used to eat there often on the weekends, but about a year ago I noticed significant changes in the specials and stopped going regularly. now I don't hardly bother going, the food is mediocre at best and the service is crap. If something is wrong with your order, as it generally is, you need to go to the bar to get a server to correct the problem. The owner is no where to be found, it is obvious that he no longer cares about the place. There are frequently fights heard from the kitchen staff either amongst themselves or with the waitstaff. I just don't see the point in returning. I attempted to contact the owner with my concerns and he did not even have the decency to reply.

Fatty's is a bit of a rarity--a sports bar with a good beer selection. They typically have 6 or 7 micros on tap, plus a nice selection of bottled beer. Fatty's is my favorite place to watch the out of town football games.
